IMHN’s Policy and Public Affairs Unit is a working group established to help take the experiences of people with lived experience of mental health and work to represent those views to key influencers and decision makers locally and nationally.
The initial aims for the unit is to
- Researching areas of interest in mental health, which we can develop and contribute to
- Researching and drafting responses to consultations locally and nationally relevant to mental health (e.g. Government green papers, proposals, Mental Health Act reforms etc)
- Developing briefings on important topics to help inform the views of decision makers and a range of other key stakeholders
- Arranging meetings with those key stakeholders to present findings / briefings.
