Content Creators

One of IMHN’s goals is to engage effectively with both our members and those with lived experience of mental, via a variety of methods including email newsletters, blog posts, Facebook posts, articles, and visual pieces. We are currently looking to increase the range, diversity, and frequency of our original content.

We are forming a team of content creators, to support our communication functions, to contribute to calls for content.

Skills we’re looking for:

  • excellent grasp of english language
  • the ability to absorb and interpret information
  • experience working to a brief and a deadline
  • a concise and dynamic writing style

What we can offer:

  • visibility of your work to a growing audience of over 3000 users / newsletter reach of 400
  • a platform from which you can evidence your skill and output in the future

 


Policy Writers

A new initiative for IMHN the development of a policy unit, to be used for the publication of strategies, commentary, and proposals for matters relating to mental health; helping to channel the voice of service users and those with lived experience within local and national discussion. 

We are looking for volunteers to support our communications and policy functions, providing support for administration and research tasks.

Skills we’re looking for:

  • excellent grasp of english language
  • the ability to absorb and interpret information and data
  • experience of writing concisely and clearly
  • organisational aptitude and self-motivation

What we can offer:

  • an opportunity to practice working to a brief
  • the opportunity to work on high profile, national initiatives and campaigns; with exposure to the media, policy makers, and other charities
  • a platform from which to demonstrate work

 


Time to Change Hub / Events Roles

BIMHN, IMHN’s Bristol branch, co-coordinates the Bristol Time to Change Hub. A ‘Hub’ is a partnership of local organisations and people who are committed to ending mental health stigma and discrimination; by facilitating local community-run initiatives and activities, and maintaining a presence at local events.

We are looking for personable and engaging volunteers who can help at events run by the Hub, involving talking with visitors, and getting people talking about mental health to help reduce stigma and discrimination.

Skills we’re looking for:

  • good ‘people’ skills
  • comfortable talking to visitors about general matters
  • empathy and understanding of others
