Shine On is the Independent Mental Health Network‘s suicide prevention and awareness campaign.

Shine On is all about bringing people and organisations together from across the South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North Somerset areas to tackle the issue of suicide and raise awareness of the support available.

Suicide is a complex issue.

“We believe that by working together to educate and raise awareness, we can make a difference.”

Community Access Support Service (CASS) and the Independent Mental Health Network (IMHN) are hosting a series of workshops to help shape future suicide bereavement support in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

The first workshop takes place on Monday 14 December at 2:30pm. Register your place today:

This is the chance to have your say on how bereavement services and support are being run and what you think the priority areas of focus should be. The information we gather will be shared with the local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to shape future bereavement support and make sure people get the best experience possible when they are having the most difficult of times.

In total, we are running three workshops. Click here for full details. We have also put together a short survey about support you may have received following a bereavement. Please complete this whether or not you are able to attend the focus group as all responses will help shape the future of services – click here.

What has the campaign achieved so far?

  • kick-started multiple suicide prevention and awareness initiatives via the Suicide Prevention Awareness Fund
  • hosted our local area’s first Suicide Prevention Summit, with over 140 people from a range of backgrounds coming together to discuss the issue
  • run a number of local events, from panel discussions to film screenings, shining a light on the topic of suicide prevention in a different way
