South Gloucestershire Mental Health Services and Organisations – Service Updates


 

24/7 Support and Connect

This telephone helpline is staffed by experienced counsellors, who you can talk to and they will listen. They will offer emotional support and can connect you to organisations available in Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG). The helpline is for people aged 18 and over who are living within BNSSG or are registered with a GP within BNSSG. Call 0800 012 6549 (textphone users dial 18001 followed by 0800 0126549). The helpline is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Adult Care and Children’s Services (Access and Response Team – ‘ART’)

When the public or professionals need to make a referral or raise a concern about a child, the Access and Response Teams (ART) will make the first assessment of what needs to be done to keep or make the child safe. For concerns about adults, please call 01454 868007. For concerns about a child, please call 01454 866000. These phone lines are open Mondays to Thursdays between 9am and 5pm; and on Fridays between 9am and 4:30pm – these phone lines are currently operating as normal. At all other times, please call 01454 615165 for the out-of-hours team, or dial 999 in an emergency.

Developing Health and Independence (DHI)

DHI are able to offer a range of support for people who need support with managing their drug and alcohol use. Please call either 01454 868750 or freephone 0800 073 3011 to speak to a member of the team, who will be able to explain what support is available for you.

They are also sharing advice and guidance via their Facebook page. The team are also able to arrange access for South Gloucestershire residents to an online programme called Breaking Free, an evidence based recovery support programme and resource, which can be found at www.breakingfreeonline.com.

Hope Project (Second Step)

The Hope Project provides short-term emotional and practical support for men aged between 30 and 64, specifically those who are in psychological distress or have recently self-harmed, but are not currently using other mental health services. Email for more information.

One You South Gloucestershire

The One You service provides support, signposting, and information for people experiencing difficulties with their mental health. Call 01454 868 583 (Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm, Friday 9am – 4.30pm) or email if you feel it would be helpful to speak with a wellbeing worker.

Off the Record (OTR)

OTR provides mental health information and support mental health to young people aged between 11 and 25 across the Bristol and South Gloucestershire areas. They are offering a mix of online and in-person sessions.
