Local Community Grant Funds – Grants Panel Role [1/2/3]

***This role was originally advertised in September 2020, and has since been filled. The information on this page has been left for reference, but may be out of date.***

These roles are open to all living in either of the Bristol, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire areas.

Bristol City Council, North Somerset Council, and South Gloucestershire Council are all launching small-grant schemes for mental health initiatives taking place in the local community. Applications to the fund will be assessed by a grants panel.

Each council are looking for a person with lived experience of mental health to support the grants panel in assessing applications to the fund.

The scheme hopes to fund local volunteer-led community or mutual aid groups. The grants panels will be particularly keen to hear from people from the area’s BAME or LGBTQ+ communities, or other communities experiencing inequalities in mental health.

The role may involve up to five days’ work (dependent on the number of applications that are submitted to the fund). We are able to pay £90 per day of work (where one day = 7.5 hours). Times and dates of meetings of the grants panel are to be confirmed, but can be based on your availability. You would also need to be able to set aside time to read the bids to the grants scheme as they are received.

The Bristol grants panel role has now been filled. Please express your interest in either the North Somerset or South Gloucestershire panel by 5pm on Wednesday 7 October.
