Tell us your experiencing of calling an NHS mental health telephone line

The Independent Mental Health Network has launched a survey asking people in the Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire areas about their experience of calling an NHS telephone line for mental health support.

  • Specifically, we are looking to hear people’s feedback about calling either:
  • The 24/7 Support & Connect mental health telephone line
    AWP’s 24/7 hour response line
  • 111

Did you feel supported during the call? Tell us your thoughts – people’s responses fill feed into an ongoing project looking at transforming the NHS’ mental health telephone lines to be more supportve for people calling about a mental health need.

In January, the government launched a public consultation on proposed reforms to the Mental Health Act. This included publication of a white paper, setting out how the Act would be reformed. This was also the response to the Independent Review of the Mental Health Act, set up in 2017.

Members of the Independent Mental Health Network came together to develop a response to the consultation and proposed reforms. This was co-developed over two sessions, and was submitted to the Department of Health & Social Care on 21 April 2021.

Members of IMHN also featured in videos, encouraging people to respond to the consultation. You can watch these videos by clicking their names below.

Members of the Independent Mental Health Network have produced videos encouraging members of the public to respond to the consultation about the proposed Mental Health Act reforms.

In January, the government published a white paper setting out how the Mental Health Act might change. The consultation on these changes is open until Wednesday 21 April at 11:59pm. Members of  IMHN are working on a joint response about the topics that matter most to them.

Francesco and Kaz, members of IMHN, produced two videos talking about why it’s important that people respond to the consultation. These videos have been published by the Department of Health & Social Care on social media. Thank you to Francesco and Kaz!

The Independent Mental Health Network (IMHN) have launched a survey, asking for people’s experiences about accessing mental health support within the last few weeks.

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues, we know how vital it is to ensure that people are able to access timely and effective mental health support.

IMHN want to hear from you about your experiences at the moment, so we can make local services and funders aware of what people’s experiences are so that action can be taken.

Members of the Independent Mental Health Network in North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Bristol are currently working on a project to improve support and care pathways for those experiencing a mental health crisis in the local area.

In order to investigate how this support can be improved, we have launched a survey asking about peoples’ experiences and views about apps that aim to support and improve mental health and wellbeing.

Mobile phone apps can be used by people experiencing a mental health crisis. Sometimes, information about apps can be shared by mental health professionals.

The survey can be found by clicking the following link: surveymonkey.co.uk/r/MentalHealthApps.

We are encouraging people with all kinds of lived experience of mental health, including people that support those with mental health difficulties, to take visit and take part in the survey.
